With the Shelter In Place going into effect today, these are difficult and challenging times – in order to support you, I’d love to inspire you with a 21-day challenge of self-care.
Creating a routine can help you and your loved ones to feel secure and have some predictability and structure in your days. Routine is a way to feel a sense of control in one’s life and helps us to cope with change, while promoting emotional wellness and relationship health.
Get up at the same time each day and put yourself on a calendar. Be creative with how you do this, such as reserving 1 hour for chores, 30 minutes for a walk outside, 30 minutes of self-care, and so forth.
Make a schedule and put it up on the fridge, and even have your partner or children add ideas of their own. Have fun with this and be creative!
Organize your day in such a way so as not to get caught up in the uncertainty of these challenging times, but rather to maintain positive intention and productivity. This can serve as an antidote to the uncertainty and ensuing worry that can occur.
